The song "Lively Up Yourself" is a song from "African Herbsman", a reggae album by Bob Marley and the Wailers, originally released in 1971 in Jamaica as a limited edition Soul Revolution Part II and produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry. In 1973, Trojan Records repackaged and reissued the album as African Herbsman. This album was released shortly after the band's first album, Catch a Fire, was released on Island Records. African Herbsman is a classic example of Marley's early work, showcasing his unique sound and his ability to create songs with social and political messages.
