Brandi Carlile - Short Biography

Brandi Carlile is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and producer whose music spans across various genres including folk rock, alternative country, Americana, and classic rock. With seven studio albums to her name, Carlile has received six Grammy Awards and earned 25 Grammy nominations, including one for The Firewatcher's Daughter, six for By the Way, I Forgive You, three for her work on Tanya Tucker's album While I'm Livin', and ten for In These Silent Days. In 2019, she formed the all-female quartet, the Highwomen, who released their debut album to critical and commercial success and won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song for "Crowded Table." Born in Ravensdale, Washington, Carlile taught herself piano and guitar, and pursued a career in music after dropping out of high school. She has been an advocate for various activism campaigns and causes including health awareness, LGBT rights, and women's empowerment.
