The Hollies - Short Biography

The Hollies is a British rock band formed in Manchester in 1962. The band's original lineup consisted of Allan Clarke (vocals), Graham Nash (vocals, guitar), Tony Hicks (guitar), Eric Haydock (bass) and Don Rathbone (drums). The band's early music was heavily influenced by American R&B and rock and roll, and the group had several hits in the UK in the mid-1960s. In 1968, Graham Nash left the band to form Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and was replaced by singer and guitarist Terry Sylvester. The band continued to have success throughout the 1970s and 1980s, with hits such as "The Air That I Breathe" and "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother." The Hollies have gone through several lineup changes over the years, but the group continues to tour and perform relentlessly.
