The Beach Boys - Short Biography

The Beach Boys are an American rock band that formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. The original lineup consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and their friend Al Jardine. The band is known for its vocal harmonies, teenage-themed lyrics and musical ingenuity. They are one of the most influential bands of the rock era, and one of the few American rock bands to have maintained its commercial position during the British Invasion. From the beginning, Brian Wilson was the band's composer, arranger, producer and de facto leader.

"Heroes and Villains" is a popular song by the American rock band The Beach Boys, from their 1967 album "Smiley Smile" and the never completed "Smile" project. It was written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks, and Wilson envisioned it as an Old West-themed musical that would surpass the success of "Good Vibrations." Although it was a hit, the single failed to meet critical and public expectations. It did, however, reach #12 in the U.S. and #8 in the U.K., marking the first release for Brother Records.
