The song was released in 1989 in the United States and in 1990 worldwide as the third single from her first solo album, Cuts Both Ways. The B-side "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" was included in the European version, which later appeared on the album Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me. A Portuguese version of the song, "Toda Pra Você," and a new Spanish version, "Tu y Yo," were released in the following years to celebrate the song's legacy. The song is a popular love ballad and was later performed as a duet by Celine Dion and Gloria Estefan.
