"Kool thing" is an iconic song by the American rock band Sonic Youth, released in 1990. It is the first single from their album "Goo", inspired by an interview that the band's bassist and singer, Kim Gordon, conducted with LL Cool J for Spin magazine. Although LL Cool J is never mentioned by name in the lyrics, the song contains several references to his work, including the single "I Can't Live Without My Radio" and the album "Walking with a Panther." Chuck D also contributed vocals to the song.
