Saïd M'Roumbaba, known under the pseudonym of Soprano, is a French rapper, singer and composer born on January 14, 1979 in Marseille. He began his career in the group Psy 4 de la rime in the late 1990s and launched his solo career in 2007 with the album Puisqu'il faut vivre. In 2014, his album Cosmopolitanie marked a pop turn.

Soprano has been influenced by artists like Michael Jackson, Daniel Balavoine, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Eminem. He also enjoys world music, citing Amadou and Mariam and Tiken Jah Fakoly as influences. He is also inspired by Le Rat Luciano, the Fonky Family and Keny Arkana. He belongs to the "school of IAM" and wants to "break the clichés" associated with rap.
