Belle and Sebastian formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996. They gained popularity in the UK with their debut album “Tigermilk” in 1996, which was initially only released in a limited quantity of 1,000 copies. Their sound is often described as indie pop, with lyrics focusing on adolescence and everyday life. The band consists of lead singer Stuart Murdoch and a rotating cast of musicians. They have released a total of 11 studio albums and have been nominated for multiple awards, including a Grammy for Best Recording Package. Belle and Sebastian continue to tour and release new music.
