Mad Season was an American rock supergroup formed in 1994 by members of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Screaming Trees. The band’s line-up consisted of Layne Staley on vocals, Mike McCready on guitar, Barrett Martin on drums, and John Baker Saunders on bass. They released their debut album, Above, in 1995, which was critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful. The band’s members struggled with drug addiction, which caused them to break up in 1996. Staley passed away in 2002 due to a drug overdose, and Saunders passed away in 1999 due to complications from his addiction. Mad Season’s legacy remains strong, as their music continues to inspire and influence generations of rock fans.
