The protagonist had a rough childhood, with his dad leaving him alone while he went out drinking and his mom being angry at his dad. He's now in a car that's not very good, driving on the wrong side of the road, wearing clothes that his mom stole. Despite all of this, he doesn't care because he has a woman waiting for him. He then talks about another woman who took advantage of him but he gave her everything anyways. He ends by talking about being in a bar on the 4th of July and contemplating changing his name and going to Miami. Overall, the protagonist has had some tough experiences but still has someone he cares about and is trying to figure things out.
