Basement Jaxx is an English electronic music duo consisting of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe. They formed in 1994 in Brixton, London and became well known for their blend of house, breakbeat, and garage music. Their debut album, Remedy, was released in 1999 and garnered critical acclaim, earning them a BRIT Award. They have since released six more albums, including Rooty and Kish Kash, and have had numerous hit singles such as “Romeo,” “Where’s Your Head At,” and “Good Luck.” They have also collaborated with artists such as Robyn, Kelis, and Dizzee Rascal. The duo has won several awards throughout their career, including a Grammy Award nomination, and continue to tour and release new music.
