Buddy Guy, born in 1936 in Louisiana, is a blues guitarist and singer known for his passionate playing and soulful voice. He moved to Chicago in the 1950s where he played in several bands and recorded his first album, “Left My Blues In San Francisco,” in 1967. Guy’s music has been highly influential and he has collaborated with other greats such as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and has won numerous awards for his music, including six Grammy Awards. Guy continues to tour and record, with his most recent albums being 2018’s “The Blues is Alive and Well” and 2020’s “Black Music Matters, Vol. 1.” He is widely considered one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time.
