Christopher Cross was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1951. He began playing music as a child and eventually went on to study music at the University of Texas. In 1979, he released his self-titled debut album, which included the hit song “Sailing”. He went on to win five Grammy Awards and release several more successful albums. Cross has collaborated with numerous musicians throughout his career and continues to write and perform music to this day. In addition to his music career, he has also contributed music to film and television. Cross has been recognized as a major influence in the soft rock and yacht rock genres. Despite facing health challenges in recent years, he remains an active musician and beloved figure in the music industry.
