Foo Fighters is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. The band’s name is derived from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as “foo fighters.” Led by frontman Dave Grohl, who was previously the drummer for Nirvana, Foo Fighters have released 10 studio albums and have won 12 Grammy Awards. The band’s signature sound combines elements of punk rock, heavy metal, and alternative rock. Throughout their career, they have sold over 30 million records worldwide.
