Jamiroquai is a British jazz-funk and acid jazz band formed in 1992 by lead vocalist Jay Kay, alongside co-founder Toby Smith and several other musicians. The band’s sound is a unique mix of jazz, funk, and electronica, marked by Kay’s distinctive high-pitched vocals. Their debut album “Emergency on Planet Earth” was released in 1993 to critical acclaim and commercial success. Jamiroquai went on to release several more successful albums, including “Travelling Without Moving” and “A Funk Odyssey”.
