Jeff Williams was born in Wisconsin in 1963 and grew up with a love for science and technology. He received a B.S. in Applied Science and Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1980 and later earned a Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He was selected by NASA in 1996 as an astronaut and completed multiple spaceflight missions, including serving as Commander of the International Space Station. In 2016, he set the record for the most cumulative days spent in space by an American astronaut. Williams retired from NASA in 2018 and has since become an advocate for STEM education, promoting the importance of science and technology in the next generation. He was awarded the NASA Distinguished Service Medal in recognition of his accomplishments.
