Katie Melua is a Georgian-British singer-songwriter born on September 16, 1984 in Kutaisi, Georgia. Growing up in Tbilisi, she moved to the UK at age eight and attended the Brit School in London. At age 18, she signed with Mike Batt’s independent label, Dramatico, and released her debut album Call Off The Search in 2003, which was followed by numerous successful albums including Piece By Piece, Pictures, and Secret Symphony. Her music is a fusion of jazz, blues, and folk influences with unique and soulful vocals. She has won numerous awards and accolades for her music including multiple Brit Award nominations. She is also involved in several charitable causes such as the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Save the Children Fund. She is married to former World Superbike champion James Toseland and they reside in London.
