Khalid Donnel Robinson, known mononymously as Khalid, is an American singer-songwriter born in El Paso, Texas on February 11, 1998. He gained widespread recognition following the release of his debut single “Location” in 2016, which peaked at number 16 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Khalid’s career skyrocketed with the release of his debut studio album “American Teen” in 2017, which earned him a Grammy Award nomination. He has collaborated with several artists including Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran and Marshmello and has released three studio albums to date, with the most recent being “Free Spirit”. Additionally, Khalid has won several awards throughout his career, including the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in 2017. He is known for his soulful voice, relatable lyrics and ability to connect with his young fans.
