La Renga is an Argentine rock band formed in 1988 in Mataderos, Buenos Aires. It is composed of Gustavo “Chizzo” Nápoli on guitar and vocals, Gabriel “Chiflo” Sánchez on bass and backing vocals, and Jorge “Tanque” Iglesias on drums. The band gained popularity in the 1990s with their energetic live performances and their fusion of rock, blues, and punk influences. They have released numerous successful albums, including “Despedazado por Mil Partes” and “La Renga”, which solidified their status as one of the leading rock bands in Argentina. Despite facing some controversies and lineup changes over the years, La Renga has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to tour extensively, often drawing crowds of tens of thousands. With their raw sound, poetic lyrics, and rebellious spirit, La Renga has become an iconic band in the Latin American rock scene.
