Linda Ronstadt was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1946 and rose to fame in the 1970s as a singer and songwriter. She has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has won 11 Grammy Awards throughout her career. Known for her beautiful vocals and wide ranging repertoire, Ronstadt has sung everything from rock to country, folk, and Latin music. She retired from singing in 2011 due to health reasons, but her legacy continues to live on. In addition to her music career, Ronstadt has also been involved in political activism and has been an advocate for various causes including the environment and human rights. She has also written an autobiography, “Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir” which was released in 2013.
