Mac Miller was born Malcolm James McCormick in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1992. He began rapping at the age of 14 and released his first mixtape, “But My Mackin Ain’t Easy,” in 2007. He gained widespread recognition with his debut album, “Blue Slide Park,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in 2011. Throughout his career, Miller released five studio albums and collaborated with a number of other artists, including Ariana Grande, Anderson .Paak, and Thundercat. He struggled with addiction and substance abuse throughout his life, which ultimately led to his untimely death in 2018 at the age of 26. Despite his short life, Miller is remembered for his talented lyricism and unapologetic vulnerability in his music.
