Matchbox Twenty is a rock band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The band consists of lead vocalist Rob Thomas, guitarist Kyle Cook, drummer Paul Doucette, and bassist Brian Yale. Their debut album, “Yourself or Someone Like You” (1996), produced hits like “Push” and “3AM,” catapulting them to international success. Follow-up albums, such as “Mad Season” (2000) and “More Than You Think You Are” (2002), continued to showcase their radio-friendly sound. In 2004, frontman Rob Thomas launched a successful solo career, which slowed the band’s activity down until reuniting in 2012 for the album, “North.” They continue to tour and release music, with their most recent album, “2020,” released in 2020, marking their first album in nine years. Despite lineup changes and hiatuses, Matchbox Twenty remains one of the most recognizable and successful bands of the late ’90s and early 2000s.
