MGMT is a psychedelic rock band formed in 2002 at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. The band consists of Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. Their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, released in 2007, received critical acclaim and catapulted them to global fame with hits like “Kids,” “Electric Feel,” and “Time to Pretend.” Their subsequent albums, Congratulations and MGMT, received mixed reviews but maintained their experimental and unique sound. MGMT’s music is known for its upbeat electronic beats, catchy melodies, and surreal and dream-like lyrics. The band has collaborated with several artists and is known for their unique live performances. MGMT continues to tour and release new music, with a new album set to release in 2021.
