One Direction is an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London in 2010. The band consists of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, who departed in 2015. They rose to fame through the seventh season of The X Factor UK, where they finished in third place. One Direction’s debut album Up All Night peaked at #2 on the UK Albums Chart. Their five albums to date have sold over 70 million copies worldwide, making them one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. The band went on hiatus in 2016, and each member has pursued solo projects since then, but their fans still hold on to the hope that they will reunite again.
