P.O.D., short for Payable on Death, is an American Christian nu metal band formed in 1992 in San Diego, California. The band consists of Sonny Sandoval on lead vocals, Marcos Curiel on guitar, Traa Daniels on bass guitar, and Wuv Bernardo on drums. Their music combines elements of heavy metal, punk rock, and reggae, and their lyrics often deal with spiritual and social issues. Their breakthrough album, “Satellite,” was released in 2001 and featured the hit single “Alive.” Since then, they have released several more successful albums, including “Testify” and “When Angels & Serpents Dance.” P.O.D. has also been nominated for several awards, including a Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2002 for “Alive.” Despite facing criticism for their religious beliefs and music, they continue to be a popular and influential band in the Christian music scene.
