Pearl Jam is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1990. They rose to fame in the early 1990s as part of the grunge movement and have sold over 85 million records worldwide. The band consists of Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament, and Matt Cameron. Their debut album, Ten, was released in 1991 and included hits such as “Alive” and “Jeremy.” Pearl Jam is known for their socially conscious lyrics and live performances. In 2000, the band clashed with Ticketmaster over high ticket prices and boycotted the company for several years. They continue to release music, with their most recent album, Gigaton, released in 2020. Pearl Jam is considered one of the most influential bands of the 1990s and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
