Pesado is one of the most popular bands from Monterrey, Mexico, known for their norteño music style. The band was formed in 1993, and its original members were Beto Zapata, Pepe Elizondo, and Mario Padilla. They quickly gained popularity throughout Mexico with their powerful vocals and accordion-heavy sound. In 2000, the band was signed to Disa Records, which led to even more success. They have released numerous albums, including their 2006 album, “Mi Promesa,” which won the Latin Grammy for Best Norteño Album. Pesado has also won multiple Premios Lo Nuestro awards and has been recognized as one of the most influential norteño bands of all time. Despite losing one of their original members, Pepe Elizondo, in 2012, the band continues to perform and remains an important figure in the regional Mexican music scene.
