Pink Floyd is an English rock band formed in London in 1965. The band consisted of Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, and David Gilmour. Barrett was replaced by Gilmour, who joined in 1968. The band achieved international success with their progressive and psychedelic music, particularly with the albums “The Dark Side of the Moon” and “The Wall”. Waters left the band in 1985, leading to legal battles over the rights to the Pink Floyd name. The remaining members continued to perform together until 2014, including a performance at Live 8 in 2005. Pink Floyd is recognized as one of the most influential bands in the history of rock music.
