Primus is an American rock band originating from California, formed in 1984. The band is composed of Les Claypool (lead vocals and bass guitar), Larry “Ler” LaLonde (guitar), and Tim “Herb” Alexander (drums). Primus is known for their unique sound that incorporates influences from funk, alternative metal, and experimental rock. They gained a strong following in the 1990s with hits such as “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” and “My Name is Mud”. The band has released numerous albums, including their debut album “Frizzle Fry” in 1990 and their most recent release “The Desaturating Seven” in 2017. Primus has also been recognized for their live performances and have shared the stage with bands such as Tool and Rage Against the Machine. They are considered one of the most innovative and influential bands in alternative rock.
