The Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Los Angeles in 1983, known for their unique blend of funk, punk, and rock music. The band’s original lineup included lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, guitarist Hillel Slovak, and drummer Jack Irons. Slovak passed away in 1988, and a rotating cast of guitarists joined the band over the years, including Dave Navarro and John Frusciante. The Chili Peppers achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with hit songs like “Give It Away” and “Under the Bridge.” They have released 11 studio albums, won seven Grammy Awards, and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band is still active today, with Kiedis, Flea, and drummer Chad Smith as current members.
