Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She began her career on Barney and Friends and then starred on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. As a singer, she formed the band Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three studio albums. Gomez has also appeared in films including Spring Breakers and The Fundamentals of Caring. She has won numerous awards including an ALMA Award, an American Music Award, and an MTV Video Music Award. Gomez has been involved in philanthropy work including UNICEF, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and various causes related to mental health.
