Silverchair is an Australian alternative rock band formed in 1992. The group consists of three members: Daniel Johns as lead vocalist and guitarist, bassist Chris Joannou and drummer Ben Gillies. They rose to mainstream fame in 1995 with their debut album “Frogstomp,” which featured the hit singles “Tomorrow” and “Pure Massacre.” The band’s sound evolved over the years, incorporating elements of post-grunge, pop and experimental rock. They have released five studio albums, six EPs and won over 20 awards. The band went on a hiatus in 2011, but reunited in 2019 for a series of performances. Silverchair has sold more than 9 million records worldwide and is considered one of the most successful Australian bands of all time.
