Status Quo is an English rock band formed in 1962 by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster. The band’s initial name was The Spectres, and they began their career playing rock and roll covers. In 1967, after a few lineup changes, they changed their name to Status Quo and started to create their own music. They quickly became known for their catchy riffs and energetic live performances, and they had their first hit with the single “Pictures of Matchstick Men.” Over the years, Status Quo amassed a large fanbase and released numerous hit albums, including “Quo,” “Blue for You,” and “Just Supposin’.” The band continued to record and tour until 2016 when they announced their retirement following the death of guitarist Rick Parfitt. Throughout their career, Status Quo remained a beloved and influential rock band, and their legacy continues to inspire musicians today.
