Stormzy, born Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., is a British rapper, singer and songwriter who was born on 26 July 1993 in London. He began pursuing a music career at the age of 11, and gained fame in the UK grime scene with his debut EP, Dreamers Disease, in 2014. Stormzy’s debut studio album, Gang Signs & Prayer, released in 2017, earned critical acclaim and won two Brit Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year. In addition to his music, he has been vocal about social issues, particularly race relations in the UK.
