The Highwaymen was a country music supergroup formed in 1985, consisting of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. They released their self-titled debut album in 1985, which went to number one on the country charts and sold over a million copies. The group went on to release two more albums, Highwayman 2 and The Road Goes on Forever. They performed together on and off until the death of Johnny Cash in 2003, and were known for their signature harmonies and outlaw country sound. The Highwaymen were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015 and remain one of the most iconic and influential groups in country music history.
