The Intruders were an American soul and R&B group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. Originally consisting of Eugene (Bird) Daughtry, Phil Terry, Robert (Big Sonny) Edwards, and Robert (Little Sonny) Brown, their smooth harmonies and heartfelt lyrics brought them success throughout the 1960s and 1970s. They first gained attention with their hit singles “Cowboys to Girls,” “Together,” and “When We Get Married.” The group experienced some lineup changes over the years, but their distinctive sound remained intact. They released numerous albums, including “The Intruders Are Together,” “Save the Children,” and “Energy of Love.” Though they never achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their peers, The Intruders were highly respected in the industry and left an indelible mark on soul music. Their legacy lives on through their influential sound and timeless hits.
