Trivium is an American heavy metal band formed in 1999 in Orlando, Florida. Originally consisting of vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, guitarist Brent Young, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and drummer Travis Smith, the band gained popularity with their 2005 album, Ascendancy. After Young departed the band, he was replaced by Corey Beaulieu. In 2006, the band released The Crusade, which saw them venture towards a more thrash metal sound, before returning to their original sound with their 2008 album, Shogun. The band has since released several successful albums, including In Waves, Vengeance Falls, Silence in the Snow, and The Sin and the Sentence. Trivium has also been nominated for a Grammy Award and has toured extensively around the world.
