Wiz Khalifa, born Cameron Jibril Thomaz in North Dakota in 1987, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He got his start in music in Pittsburgh, where he began releasing mixtapes in 2005. He gained mainstream success with his 2010 single “Black and Yellow,” which topped the charts in the U.S. and several other countries. Over the years, he has collaborated with other prominent artists such as Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth, and Maroon 5. Khalifa is also known for his advocacy of marijuana use and his entrepreneurial ventures, including his own strain of the drug called “Khalifa Kush.” He is married to model Amber Rose and they have a son together. Khalifa’s style is characterized by his laid-back flow and use of auto-tune, and he has been nominated for multiple awards throughout his career.
