Mitch Lucker, the lead vocalist of the American metal band Suicide Silence, tragically passed away on November 1, 2012, at the age of 28. The cause of his death was a motorcycle accident.
Reports state that Lucker had been riding his black 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in Huntington Beach, California, when he lost control and collided with a light pole. The accident occurred on Halloween night, just a few hours after Lucker had uploaded a picture on his Instagram account showing him in costume with the caption “The dead are living.”
Despite wearing a helmet, Lucker sustained severe injuries from the impact and was immediately rushed to the hospital. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries the following day. The news of his sudden death sent shockwaves throughout the metal community and left fans, friends, and family devastated.
Following Lucker’s passing, a public candlelight vigil was held in Huntington Beach to commemorate his life and mourn his loss. The band Suicide Silence established the Mitch Lucker Memorial Fund to provide financial support for Lucker’s young daughter, Kenadee.
