Located in the vibrant Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Narwhal Studios is a state-of-the-art recording studio established by producers and drummers Brian Deck and Jim Gifford. The studio occupies the space of Brian’s former studio, Engine, where many acclaimed artists, such as Modest Mouse and Iron & Wine, have created their music. At Narwhal Studios, our aim is to make music-making as creative and enjoyable as possible. With plenty of natural light flooding into the studio, we have also equipped the studio with the best consoles available, such as a Rupert Neve Designs 5088 Shelford and an SSL 4040, as well as an array of analog outboard gear, top-notch microphones and unique instruments. We believe that the combination of our great-sounding spaces, cutting-edge technology and inspiring instruments will result in the best possible atmosphere for producing stunning musical works.
