Sunset Sound Recorders is a legendary recording studio located in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Created by Walt Disney’s Director of Recording, Tutti Camarata, in 1958, the complex was formed from a collection of old commercial and residential buildings. The former automotive repair garage was selected for its sloping floor, which naturally reduces unwanted sonic standing wave reflections. Many of Disney’s early films were recorded at the studio, such as Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins, and 101 Dalmatians.
Since then, Sunset Sound has become known for its Gold record-worthy productions. Many renowned artists have recorded at this studio, such as Prince, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Toto, RHCP, and Van Halen. With its timeless sound, Sunset Sound continues to be a destination for the music industry’s most influential artists, providing the perfect platform for their creativity.
