The protagonist leaves their house to meet with a friend, Bel Pierrie, to plan a burglary to pay off some debts they have. They observe the target's business and come up with a plan to copy the keys to the safe. They successfully break into the store, but realize the safe is too heavy to move and sets off an alarm. They decide to take the safe anyways and escape on a motorcycle with their friend. They eventually get away with the stolen money.
