"All You Get From Love is a Love Song" is a song written by Steve Eaton and originally recorded by the Righteous Brothers in 1975. However, it was widely popularized by the Carpenters in 1977 when they released it as a single on May 21 of that year. The B-side of the song was "I Have You," which had already been released on the Carpenters' 1976 album "A Kind of Hush." "All You Get From Love is a Love Song" also appeared on the Carpenters' 1977 album "Passage." This song explores the idea that love comes with both joy and sorrow, implying that one must take the bad with the good if one is to know true love.
