The protagonist, Christine, is singing about an angel of music that she used to dream of and now believes is with her. Her friend, Meg, is confused by Christine's talk of an angel and tells her that stories like this can't be true. The people around them notice Christine's strange behavior and her pale face, but she reassures them and continues to believe in her angel. One of their friends, Raoul, decides to visit Christine alone and receives a bouquet of flowers from the others.
