Alabama - Short Biography

Alabama is an American country music group, first formed under the name Wildcountry. The band was formed in the state of Alabama in 1969 by Randy Owen and his cousin Teddy Gentry. Later, another cousin, Jeff Cook, joined the duo. In 1977, the group was renamed Alabama. The group had its greatest success in the 1980s, with over 25 number ones on the charts. Their first hit single on RCA Records was "Tennessee River".

"Angels Among Us" is a heartwarming song written by Don Goodman and Becky Hobbs, recorded by the American country music group Alabama. The song was released in December 1993 as the Christmas single from the band's album "Cheap Seats". It features backing vocals by the Sanctuary Choir and the Young Musicians Choir from First Baptist Church in Fort Payne, Alabama. The song reached the Hot Country Songs chart twice and quickly became a fan favorite because of its encouraging and hopeful message. In addition, Becky Hobbs recorded the song on her album "The Boots I Came to Town In." "Angels Among Us" reminds us that no matter where we are or what we are going through, there are always people who bring kindness and joy into our lives, like angels.
