- Philip David Charles Collins is an English singer, musician, songwriter, record producer and actor.
- He was the drummer and singer of the rock band Genesis and has a solo career.
- Between 1982 and 1990, Collins recorded three number one singles in the UK and seven in the US as a solo artist.
- He had more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s.
- His most successful singles from this period include "In the Air Tonight," "Against All Odds," "One More Night" and "Another Day in Paradise."

- "Another Day in Paradise" is a song by Phil Collins from his album ...But Seriously released as the first single on October 9, 1989 in the US.
- Like the Genesis song "Man on the Corner", "Another Day in Paradise" is written to raise awareness of homelessness, which is why the song has a less dance/pop beat than his previous album No Jacket Required from 1985.
- The song went to number one in many countries and was Collins' most successful single. Collins and producer Hugh Padgham won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1991 and a Brit Award for Best British Single in 1990.
- The song is also listed at number 86 on the Billboard Greatest Songs of All Time chart.
- The single version is slightly different from the album version, with a longer intro. David Crosby provides backing vocals.
