The protagonist is riding across his land, promising Njörð (a Norse god) that he will divide the light equally and keep the sea calm. However, a black army appears and he tries to escape on a boat, using his stone wings to speed up. The shadow throws a terrifying sight, causing great harm, and everything the protagonist loves is destroyed. He tries to defend his loved ones but arrives too late. He sees his child dead and covered in blood, his family slaughtered, and the image of his devastated home. The lyrics mention death, blood, and destruction, and end with a vow of revenge.
