Kim Carnes - Short Biography


- Kim Carnes is an American singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, California.

- She began her career as a songwriter in the 1960s and as a session background singer with the Waters sisters.

- She released her first album Rest on Me in 1971 and her second self-titled album in 1975.

- You're a Part of Me" was the first single from her second album to chart and reached #35 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

- In 1976, "Love Comes from Unexpected Places," from his album Sailin', won the American Song Festival and the Best Songwriting Award at the Tokyo Song Festival.

Bette Davis Eyes is a popular song written by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon in 1974. It was first recorded by DeShannon, but became a hit in 1981 when American singer Kim Carnes sang it. It held the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, and was the biggest hit of that year. It was a big hit in 21 countries, and even reached number 10 in the UK, which was Kim Carnes' only Top 40 hit in that country. It was also number 2 in Canada for twelve weeks.
