Blitzkrieg Bop is a song by the Ramones, released in 1976. It was written by singer Joey Ramone and guitarist Johnny Ramone. The song is considered one of the most important of the band and was ranked number 92 of the best songs of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

The song was inspired by the punk rock movement and the band New York Dolls. Joey Ramone said the title was a reference to the movie Star Wars, where the Stormtroopers are called "Blitzkrieg Bop".

The track was recorded in February 1976 and was produced by Craig Leon. The song was included in the band's first album, Ramones, which was released in April of the same year.

The song was a commercial success and reached number 6 in the UK. The song has been covered by many artists, including U2, Green Day and Blink-182.
