Born Late '58 is a single from Mott the Hoople's latest album, "The Hoople". It is the only song credited to and sung by the band's bassist, Peter Watts. The song was recorded after band leader Ian Hunter left the studio in frustration with new guitarist Ariel Bender. Born Late '58" is the only song Hunter did not participate in, but it features Bender's guitar.
